Villages Letter to the Alumni

Villages Pizza Launches Adopt A Night
New Fundraiser Designed to Ease Economic Crunch.
To: All Mt. Doug Alumni and Mt. Doug Supporters
As non-profit groups, like ours, continue to search for ways of raising money in 2009, Villages Pizza is hoping to ease the fundraising pressure through a new program that builds financial support while providing healthy meal options. Called Adopt A Night, the program is an opportunity for our supporters/alumni to raise money while doing something most of us already enjoy on a regular basis – eating great tasting Pizza.
“We wanted to find a way to give something back to the organizations in our community and help them grow stronger, especially as the economic outlook isn’t very positive right now. We’ve consistently heard people say they are worried about whether there will be enough money to continue the work they are doing,” says John Papaloukas, a Mt. Doug Alum and owner, Villages Pizza. “With Adopt A Night we can share our success within the community. We look at it as profit sharing with those in our community who are helping make our business and the community stronger.”
When we register, for the Adopt A Night program, each alumni or supporter receives an Adopt A Night e-card. When Mt. Doug Alumni or supporters pick up their order and present the e-card, or state they are supporting Mt. Doug, at a Villages Pizza location on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 percent of the sales are donated to our cause. Four times a year Villages Pizza sends the funds collected to us, allowing us, in turn to distribute the funds to support current Mt. Doug students and student programs.
Villages Pizza supports a number of fundraising initiatives including school lunch programs. Earlier this year Villages sent pizzas to a lab for testing to ensure their pizzas meet school nutrition requirements under the ActNowBC Healthy Guidelines, putting Villages Pizza in the “Choose Most Often” category – the highest/best ranking possible.
Villages Pizza believes in giving children the gift of good health through healthy meals. Through the use of premium, minimally-processed ingredients Villages makes pizza that is a healthy, nutritious meal choice for families throughout Greater Victoria. Villages Pizza now operates seven full service locations throughout Greater Victoria, and your Alumni Association Directors support this passive fundraising initiative.
Sincerely,
Mt. Doug Alumni Association Directors
